And so, to Beekman

Hi all! Tomorrow I depart for New York and to the fabulous farm of Dr. Brent Ridge and Josh Kilmer-Purcell. It's been a long time coming, but I'll finally get to meet (at least one of) these intrepid young farmers and the goats who keep them hopping. They're graciously allowing me to take some photos of the property so I'll be sure to have some on hand here on the blog when I return. I'll hopefully get some behind-the-scenes snapshots, too, but we'll see! Until then, have a glorious weekend everyone!

Dear, dear Andrew..
My friend.. you are about to visit one of the most beautiful and peaceful places in New York state. I've said it many times, that I think the Beekman is a slice of heaven on earth. It holds such a special place in my heart. Sharon Springs is a great place to enjoy a bit slower pace. The people of Sharon Springs are so warm, so friendly, and so welcoming. Please tell Doug and Garth that David and I send our love.. and do stop into the Black Cat Cafe for a delicious lunch and a friendly chat with Tony, the owner. Hop across the street from the American and visit Maureen at her fabulous gift shop. I could go on and on. Most of all.. take time to walk around the farm. Hug a goat or 10.. Be charmed by Polka Spot (the Llama), and in all seriousness, just breathe. Take in the country air.
I'm so, so happy that you're visiting. Give our love to all. Safe travels, and I can't wait to hear/read about your visit.

Andrew, if you have time, check out the Arwell Art museum right next to the Beech Nut factory. It can be done in an hour.

Andrew, you have to take pictures of the kitchen!! We want to know what appliances they use, the layout, the china, silverware, linens, etc... I love knowing these details. Have fun!
