The New Martha Stewart TV App

Martha Stewart recently launched a new app featuring full-length episodes of her past television shows, which are available for streaming in high-definition. The app is available for Apple, Android, Amazon Fire +, Roku and Chromecast devices. There are currently 750 full-length episodes and 10 specials available through the app, which can be viewed on devices such as tablets, desktop computers and mobile phones. (You can also easily cast the episodes from your device to your television). Click here to subscribe!
Included are all 11 seasons of Martha's first television show "Martha Stewart Living" as well as episodes of "The Martha Stewart Show", with more episodes being added all the time. There is currently a free 14-day trial when you subscribe. The cost for the service is $7.99 per month or $95.50 per year. Subscribers will also receive exclusive content (hints and tips from the Martha Stewart team of experts) and alerts when new seasonal content has been added.
This is how the app appears on an iPhone. (Prices and terms are for Canadian subscribers).

I know some of you would have preferred a DVD or Blu Ray collection featuring all the full-length episodes to keep for posterity - and I must admit I'm one of those people - but Martha must protect her valuable media content, and I understand that. The years she and her producers invested in making these episodes is worth the cost, in my opinion. I have no problem paying to enjoy a program I truly love to watch, knowing I'm supporting the company that produced it. I hope many of you feel the same way.

I would have preferred a DVD collection too - but I will take what I can get. I have been LONGING for this forever. I had so many old episodes on VHS tapes that were now useless. I downloaded it easily and was happy to see it had all (ALL!!) the 1 hour episodes from the original series (my favorite one) included the first year 30 minute ones that were in syndication and hard to find at the time. Maybe at some point the DVD collection will be a reality too, but for now this is AMAZING.

Thank you for posting this! I learn so much valuable information about Martha from your blog that I otherwise would not have known about. Will definitely be placing an annual subscription.

Wow what a 'Good Thing'. Now Ill always have something to put on in the background when there's nothing in particular I want to watch. Will be great to put on as i drift off to sleep as well. I imagine it will take a long time to go through all of the episodes!

Just curious if anyone is having issues with the new TV app? I can play things just fine on my phone and Apple TV although there are some categories that still tell me there's nothing there (I think the Pies/Tarts & Gardening categories are some of the ones doing this if I am remembering correctly). I guess in time they'll get that sorted out.

However, I have tried to view on my computer, using both Chrome and Firefox. The page and the menus load fine but when I try to actually view a video, it never starts playing.

I am wondering if there is some setting I need to change on my browsers?

John, I’m having the same difficulty with some of the content. I don’t think it’s all been loaded yet. “Martha’s Favourite Restaurants “ and “Martha’s Favourite Sources,” for instance, don’t seem to load. There are a few other sections like that. All of the specials are fine for me, and the full length episodes. I’m sure they are tweaking it.

I didnt really watch the show much in the original run. I was either in college or working so rarely home during the day. Also I did not appreciate the subject matter as much until I got older. So it is great to see all of these programs as they were originally presented. I didn't realize the theme music had several differnet iterations. I knew the original season had that sprightly orchestral piece and the famous theme from the middle years. I had never heard the last 2 themes---the were both slightly odd. The 'humming' theme and then the last theme that reminds me of a chicken clucking lol.

I notice there are lots of gaps in the episodes available....guess that will get filled in over time. So far I find the era right after Martha moved into the Westport studio her 'golden age'. Season 5's opening with the multicolored sugared pansies on the cake to the bountiful pink roses at Lily Pond to the cake dusted in powdered sugar with the steel spring chair template is simply stunning!

I am curious....was there ever a segment that was filmed in Martha's renovated Turkey Hill kitchen? I know the studio white kitchen with the jadite filled cabinets was inspired by it, but I don't recall seeing any segments filmed there. I know there was a magazine article detailing the remodel as well as an article detailing the Turkey Hill re-decoration. Were there ever segments filmed for these subjects?

If no one takes the bait another BETTER version will be generated. The newsletter failed and it became an extension to the subscription. This is spaghetti being thrown on the wall they want to see it it sticks. The early shows were eagerly awaited by this poster but now that Turkey Hill is not a museum or a historic site ehh. Life goes on and MS is looking for the next talk show she is a force to reckon with and I reckon my old copies of MSL are worthy of a re read.

The question is when was the kitchen renovated? Perhaps the studio allowed for the kitchen to be renovated at Turkey Hill. If one looks at the early books MS published one will notice several kitchens. When the Barn was moved to the property did it not have a kitchen? In any event, the studio was a result that MS could no longer film the tv show at her house. That timeline should be considered when narrowing down a season of shows to examine the kitchen cooking segments. Better yet google MS Turkey Hill CT kitchen via images er hmmm I have to go now.

Well i know Martha acquired the studio due to her ever expanding empire and due to complaints from the neighbors for the constant filming, but I am not sure if she completely stopped filming there. I thought there were still occasional segments there, especially showing the Turkey Hill gardens. So I would have thought the renovation of her kitchen and mudroom would have been filmed, or she would have at least had a segment touring the remodeled kitchen. Especially since she could have probably written the renovation off on her taxes since it provided content for the magazine and/or show lol.

Re the question of the TH kitchen renovation. As I recall the original kitchen, had multiple baskets hanging from the ceiling beams and a much darker color palette prior to the renovation. The renovation was shown including the moving in of some large custom made a cabinetry. The end result was white cabinets, marble counter tops and hi end stainless commercial ranges and appliances. I believe that was the last major TH kitchen changes by Ms Stewart.
