Sorry off topic......a question and comment.
On NYC PBS station "Martha Bakes" just started.
-question:
I was curious, is it just me who believes, while a handsome back ground , it is less then warm and inviting? While not wanting to sound like I am repeating a usual refrain, the Westport back drop in the old MSL TV show was more appropriate.
-comment:
While the finished bake goods are always nicely plated, it would look so much more "Martha Stewart (ish)" if the item was presented at an appropriate table/buffet setting.

I delight in finding "good things" and the origin of such techniques. Years ago when Alexis Stewart had her blog she mentioned a Maida Heatter and her cookbook. Today I reached for a copy of my Book of Great Chocolate Desserts copyright 1978. The how to prepare the serving plate before you ice the cake. you know the strips of wax paper under the cake , good thing. I wonder if MS ever credited MH with the idea??

Andrew,
As I find your insite into design and staging always informative. If possible, would you comment re the backdrop and presentation as I have outlined in the above re Marth Bakes.
Thank you,

APM, I agree with you. When you compare it to the former TV sets Martha had used, it does feel a bit less warm and inviting. It is a Home Depot kitchen, from her personal line, and it looks very efficient and workable, but a bit less "homey."
