New Martha Stewart Website In the Works

Last month, Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia announced that it had hired Michael Robinson to begin design on a new e-commerce website for its merchandising partnership with JC Penney, which will launch in 2013. As the company's new Vice President of E-Commerce, he will also help boost the company's other online retail sites, including marthastewart.com.

"Michael brings a great background from several innovative, successful lifestyle retail brands, as well as an understanding of the markets we're targeting and the best ways to attract those consumers to an e-commerce environment," said Lisa  Gersh, MSLO President and COO. "He's very well-positioned to drive an important company initiative as we expand our e-commerce business in conjunction with J.C. Penney. We're thrilled to have him on the team."

Michael has vast e-commerce experience, coming to MSLO from Anthropologie, where he most recently headed up the clothing and lifestyle retailer's European web division. In 1998, he launched Anthropologie's highly successful and critically-acclaimed catalog and website divisions, and later developed the company's customer loyalty program.

Have a look at Anthropologie.com to see some of Michael's work. Among the site's unique and helpful features is a clean layout, beautiful lifestyle photography along with high-resolution photographs of the products, categorized shopping links, a powerful and intelligent search engine and online catalog viewing. There is also plenty of inspiration, such as the website's "Magazine" which features articles on artists, musicians, behind-the-scenes photos and backstories about many of the company's vendors, plus original videos.

I'm realling looking forward to seeing what he comes up with for Martha!
