'Martha Knows Best' Premiers July 31 on HGTV

Martha's new gardening show for HGTV will premier on Friday, July 31, with two back-to-back half hour episodes on the network. The show, filmed at Martha's farm in Bedford, New York, will chronicle some of the outdoor projects that Martha and her crew have been working on during this period of quarantine. Stewart will plant vegetable and perennial gardens, build walkways, and recommend plants for novice gardeners, all the while offering expert tips and advice on how to improve your outdoor spaces.
To add some sparkle, Martha will also be joined (virtually) by a series of celebrity guests, including actors Richard Gere and Lupita Nyong'o, fashion designer Zac Posen, talk show host Jay Leno and her friend and "Potluck Dinner Party" co-host, Snoop Dogg, among others. The guests will video chat with Martha and ask for gardening advice.

During the premier episode, Martha will explore the virtues of container gardening and will give some advice to Snoop Dogg about growing herbs...Ahem... Future episodes will include building a stone pathway for her muster of peacocks and chatting with Lupita Nyong'o about flower arranging. Be sure to tune in!

Martha's garden was recently featured on CBS Sunday Morning. Click here to watch the segment.

This is exciting! I've missed this type of show ever since she abandoned the concept years ago. I love seeing Martha at her farm. Hopefully she will do segments from all of her homes!

Does any one but me see the irony of this .... How many years ago MS was "home bound" detained with an electronic ankle bracelet tracking her illegal moves to the outside rather then remaining in the Big House. An now she is being confined to her 150 hectare estate with her staff a self imposed quarentine, sniff snifff and she has Parlayed her covid 19 "troubles" into another revenue streaming event. God love her she shows the average amigo how to forget about your cares and woes and LIVE Laugh and Love.

Andrew how about a walk down memory lane how MS Ala Disney bought up the surrounding estates of cantitoe corners to amass an estate that now features Martha Knows best way to Make a name for yourself. I wish she would tap into a feature with Jude and Truman via zoom they miss grammie no doubt.

Anonymous, I was thinking the same thing about the ankle-bracelet days. I think that's why she took to quarantine so naturally and didn't really seem to mind it all that much: been there, done that. And since everyone else was also in "lockdown" there was no need to feel like she was missing out.

I LOVE the new show! She's funny, informative, and knowledgeable. I like how she's including Ryan (her gardener) in the episodes. He's so adorable and likeable. I'm looking forward to seeing more episodes. Welcome back, Martha!

Hope it gets renewed for another season!

I hope it is renewed as well. It's like her blog come to life. I like seeing her at home. It might be nice to do a series of shows from Maine and the Hamptons as well. I always preferred Martha in her own garden, kitchen etc. as compared with a studio/audience. I think she is strongest when she is teaching and not having to chit chat as much. Would love to see more!

AR was it happenstance she quarantined at the Bedford Estate? Did she, advisors saw taping a show there as a pilot but during the lockdown (time is money) Intagram stories Ha! TV show yes--- I am curious was this idea in the works they did it on the fly, sold the idea to HGTV I mean was it a gamble to stay in NY could she "escape" to Maine during lobster season or for the winter.... imagine the possibilities

I have a feeling it was planned, yes. TV shows take awhile to sort out, logistically, I would imagine. But... in today's high-tech, low-cost world where anyone can make an album on a computer or film a movie on an iPhone, it may have been just a last-minute idea to pass the time and generate some buzz. The producer was the cameraman, in this case. Drones did all the overhead shots. A lot of it was filmed on smartphones. I wonder... I wonder...
