So Many Copper Pots!

When Conan O'Brien visited Martha Stewart's Westport television studios in the early aughts, he was entranced by her collection of copper pots and jokingly asked Martha if she ever runs her hands lovingly through her hanging collection, marveling at their beauty. I would!

Those of us who have been following Martha for a couple of decades know about her affinity for copper cookware and her vast personal collection. I was very excited to learn that she recently designed a new set of copper cookware for the Martha Stewart Collection at Macy's. Martha blogged about the set a few days ago and I was so happy to see such a complete set for such a reasonable price that I wanted to showcase it here. (Copper cookware will always be expensive, but look at it as an investment. It should last you for decades.) You can view the entire collection here.
The tri-ply 10-piece cookware set is for everyday use and was designed for lasting durability. Here are some of the features:
  • Pure copper exterior for superior control over heat and cooking speeds
  • Specially designed extra long handle for safety, balance, and ease of use
  • Set includes:
  • 8-qt. stockpot with lid
  • 3-qt. saucepan with lid
  • 2-qt. saucepan with lid
  • 3.5-qt. sauté pan with lid
  • 10" fry pan
  • 8" fry pan
  • Manufacturer's limited lifetime warranty
  • Only at Macy's
  • Tri-ply construction sandwiches an aluminum core between a copper exterior and a stainless steel interior
  • Hand wash only
  • Imported
The handles on every pot are riveted for extra reinforcement and durability.
Using pegboard to display the collection is a very nice way to keep the set easily at hand.
The set would make an excellent wedding gift!

These sure are beautiful, huh? I have a set of cookware by Emerill LaGasse and I like them alot. I think that if you can have copper, you should have a place to hang them and enjoy them all the time...I actually would have to remodel my kitchen again in order to do that. I'm thinking that my husband wouldn't be terribly thrilled at the prospect of doing a re-remodel!

I bought these, when Macy's was having its friends and family 25% off, on top of a discounted $499 price. They're excellent, this is the kind of quality you would expect from Martha, comparable to All-Clad. I love them. I also splurged and got the Jadeite cake stand... my kitchen is becoming very Martha :)

The pegboard image displays 11 pots/implements/pans and if they all had lids except for the frying pans........that would total more than 10 pieces. Just saying counting lids vs pot/pan 10 sounds better than 6 Just saying -- Martha taught us about tag sales and my 2 dollar copper 3-cup saucepan I bought at a tag sale fosters my delayed gratification, as I build a collection of my battery de cuisine. Interesting how Julia Child never slapped her name on a frying pan. It was a different time and a different motivation. Ask not what your country can do for you Ask what can you do for your country.

Now Macy's is going out of business where will we be able to purchase Martha's copper Woodward? I love the thickness of the handles and riveted and not screwed on.
