Martha Working on New Books!

Martha was in Calgary, Alberta, Canada this week to speak at The Art of Leadership for Women conference about entrepreneurship and becoming a leader in your chosen field. She also spoke about her line of kitchens at The Home Depot, new trends in kitchen design and the kitchen renovations she has undertaken at her own homes. Speaking to The Calgary Herald, Martha divulged that she is currently working on writing three new books: a book about gardening, a book about home design and a book about weddings - "Don't get married without it," Martha joked in the interview. It will be nice to have new books from Martha that do not center on the subjects of cooking and baking. (Martha's next book is out on September 8th and is called Appetizers.) There are no further details about the three new books, only that they are in the works. So, stay tuned!

Hi Andrew, very excited about her new three books sounds amazing. I preordered the book appetizers from Amazon UK, another addiction to my Martha Stewart library.

PS I really wish you post for Martha's blog.

Thanks, Rowaida! That would be a dream come true! :-)

May I ask if you have ever had any indication from Ms Stewart's "team"/company that your blog is regularly read by them? I am asking as ithe blog should be a very positive "touch stone" for the reaction of her fan base to various products/trends of MSLO

Martha and her team are very familiar with the blog. I was on Martha's show as a guest in 2010 and have met with several of the editors. They read it! (To read more about the history of the blog, click on "About Andrew" at the bottom of the main page where all the links are housed.

I remember the episode and that is when I started reading your blog. I guess I was wondering if it was still an active interchange of ideas/ info/comments
Thanks for clarifying

Andrew

Any chance of Martha writing an autobiography that you are aware of? I thought I remember years ago about a possibility...

Been reading your blog for years, it is so beautiful. Thanks for all the time you put into it.

Linda

Hi Linda - Martha has a draft of an autobiography, which she initially called "Martha, Really and Truly." But she shelved it when her legal battles began. I'm sure she'll return to it. She clearly has to add several more chapters!

I suppose the Oxmoor House publications er specialty books er reprints from MSL articles are books. Yes, she has published many cook books why not another Gardening book or another Weddings book but another This Old new house book. Remember that book which followed the rehabbing of the Adams house up or was it down the hill from Turkey Hill? Anyway that project, from what I read was bankrolled by the first company in 1986 or so that Martha teamed up with remember KMart. Instructional vhs videos were created and sold. I wonder if a production company ever filmed the work creating Cantatoe Corners/ the Bedford estate.
