Other highlights this fall include an increase in themed programs, such as a new hamburger show, which will air on the 18th. On September 30, Aerin Lauder, the striking granddaughter of the legendary perfume tycoon Estee Lauder, will be featured in a show that was filmed in Martha's peony garden at Bedford. Lauder will explain how scents are conceived and extracted from botanicals. The 'Tech Show' on October 2nd will feature a number of technology experts, including representatives from Facebook, Google, Yahoo and Twitter, who will explain all the newest developments in home technology and communication. Another ongoing series will trace the design developments of decorating editorial director Kevin Sharkey's new Manhattan apartment, which he is currently renovating and decorating.
Guests this fall will include Julianne Moore, Ted Turner, Serena Williams, Nora Ephron and Jennifer Garner, plus all the MSLO experts we've come to know and love: Emeril Legasse, Weddings editor Darcy Miller, pet expert Marc Morrone, Everyday Food staffers Lucinda Scala-Quinn, John Barricelli, Sarah Carey and Anna Last, plus Kevin Sharkey, Alexis Stewart and Jennifer Koppelman-Hutt of "Whatever" fame.
Looks like a great start to the new season!

Andrew, thanks for the sneak peak at the upcoming season! It looks like there are lots of good things on the way!
Wasn't Skylands feautured on an episode of "The Apprentice: Martha Stewart"? If memory serves, Alexis escorted a handful of contestants on a tour of the grounds and the home as a reward for winning an assignment. Nonetheless, it will be exciting to finally see Martha give a tour of her stunning property! :-)

You must be so excited Andrew - your favourite home of all!
Will you be doing a small review on the first episode (please)?

Thanks for the preview - really excited about the new season starting. These repeats are getting boring -the sandwich show AGAIN!
OMG The perks of a blog . These are major perks. Honestly, will Martha visit with Ken Burns?? Perhaps readers should e mail suggestions. I would start in Ohio as several presidents were born in Ohio and well Ted Turner-- his dad had an outdoor advertising business in Cincinnati. If you were to suggest she visit Canada -- where would Martha go????
While I love the magazine, her daily program continues to be a snooze-fest. I find it so boring and rushed, especially when compared to the old format. Martha seems unnatural with the guests and often times disinterested. And the show could be used as a drinking game for the number of times she says: "um"
The guests! It's funny you should say that because my Dad, who is retired, watches a lot of daytime TV, and consequently Martha's show, said something similar to me the other day. He likes Martha, but he complained that she's impatient with her guests, often interrupting them or talking over them when they are speaking. I suppose it's her show after all, she can do what she wants. I hardly watch it myself, so I can't comment on this. But I did manage to catch a couple of the repeat episodes this summer, and I find that Martha has aged quite a bit. Not so much in her looks, but she seems tired, not as sharp as she was, even a little slow and clumsy. Ah well! Old age comes to us all - even the brilliant and wealthy.
I am a long time Martha watcher but if she doesn't stop interrupting her guests, I am going to stop watching. It is so rude...
it's 2011 and she's STILL interrupting her guests!!!
