Stop by for a visit and let me know what you think.
Cheers,
KarenMadame Khttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00754595563988699932noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23768882.post-2029821104563952912009-08-14T20:09:35.395-05:002009-08-14T20:09:35.395-05:00Great post, Andrew. Admittedly, the book Julie & Julia: The Year of Cooking Dangerously is the my first introduction to Julia Child as a whole. However, Julie Powell does such an amazing job in telling her story in parallel to the American cook icon it has been a real treat...no pun intended.Antonianoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23768882.post-49766526915424244682009-08-12T16:48:10.608-05:002009-08-12T16:48:10.608-05:00I'm so glad I found your page today! I'll let you know what I think! Martha has said that the only actress she would ever want to play her in a movie is Meryl Streep. The movie was very well done and looks like another Oscar for Meryl Streep. I've never cooked any of Julia's recipes but could relate when thinking how much Martha has influenced so many lives including mine. I would love to see a movie like this about MarthaKirkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06080054922582054662noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23768882.post-77880602521937357282009-08-08T13:03:13.151-05:002009-08-08T13:03:13.151-05:00Julia as inspiration is also true for other celebr...Julia as inspiration is also true for other celebrity cooks/chefs like Ina Garten. I never watched her when she was on PBS becasue I found her voice grating after about 5 minutes. I also don't care for French food, having grown up in an Italian household. But I like and admire the concept - learning to be at ease in the kitchen and comfortable to prepare for yourself, family and friends. Julia demystified the culinary world for many Americans in an age where people still used canned and frozen food in much of their food preparation.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
